We pride ourselves on being one of Denmark’s most active Flying Clubs for the advancement of General Aviation. The club is situated at Randers Airfield which is easily accessed by road or, of course, from the air.
Randers Airfield, located just 6 km north of the town centre, is owned and run by Randers Kommune, and used by both commercial and general aviation traffic. It is the home for over 30 aircraft and accommodates a clubhouse, a service and maintenance workshop, refuelling facility, parking area, and both club and privately owned hangars. A payphone is available within the entrance to the clubhouse. Lunch and light refreshments are available only in connection with club events.
Two flying schools operate from Randers Airfield and enquiries are welcome. Flying from Randers Airfield allows for easy access to most types of airspace and airfields that students and qualified pilots alike may wish to experience. The airfield itself lies in unrestricted, class G airspace, up to an altitude of 3500 ft. just 4 NM northwest of the Aarhus TMA and within the Aarhus LTA of Copenhagen FIR.
Our club is comprised of approx. 160 members, most of whom are private pilots, and who either own an aircraft, a share in one, or who rent when the need or opportunity arises. At any one time there are also 10 to 20 student pilots in various stages of acquiring their private pilot or ultra-light certificate. There is additionally an affiliated club of non-flying aviation enthusiasts named "Randers Flying Club's Friends".
Whether you are planning a half-day trip to a welcoming airfield, a day’s excursion to enjoy lunch and shopping in the town of Randers or our larger neighbour, Aarhus, or a longer stay to savour the delights of East Jutland, this is the place for you.
Visitors are welcome to come and take advantage of our facilities and can be sure of a warm friendly reception in a relaxed atmosphere.
